Scott is a graduate of Animal Behavior College (ABC) and has been leading obedience and agility training classes for several years. He is a therapy dog handler, competes in agility and has also trained dogs in rally and herding. Scott is a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, has worked at an animal shelter, and has fostered many dogs for shelters and rescues. His passion is playing agility with his dogs.
Scott lives with his wonderful wife Diana, and their four dogs. Cali, a tri-colored sheltie, and Summer, a sable & white sheltie, are the agility dogs. They have earned over 60 titles and awards in three agility venues at multiple levels. Scott & Summer won the 2009 NADAC Versatility Championshipwith Top 8 placements in 15 of 16 events; Scott and Cali placed in the Top 8 in 5 of her 6 events. Chesnee, the sable & white collie, is the four-legged half of herding team extraodinaire (with Diana) who is also starting to learn agility. Finally, smallest in age and size (but not bark!) is Joslyn, our reactive Pomeranien who is also learning agility.

Retired after forty years of teaching high school English students, Deborah now has time to do what she has always wanted to do: teach dog owners how to build a great relationship with their pets! Two of her dogs are currently competing at the Excellent level in AKC agility trials, and one of them--Bonnie-- also enjoys performing a show when making visits to schools and hospitals as a TDI certified therapy dog. Bonnie also has entered four trick-performance contests and won first place every time, most notably the Pet Idol contest at Petpalooza in Norfolk.
Deborah is a graduate of the Animal Behavior College and has attended clinics and seminars given by Susan Garrett, Laurene Galgano, Laurie Williams and Dr. Regina Schwabe, to name just a few. She is a firm advocate of positive reinforcement techniques and teaches tricks using the clicker method developed by the Karen Pryor.
Most of all, she wants to help owners and dogs discover all the wonderful things they can do together! |
