Playful Pups currently offers a variety of group training classes. Our classes are geared towards companion pet training (i.e., teaching dogs how to behave in the home) and towards fun activities you can do with your dog, such as trick training, rally and agility. This diagram shows the classes we offer and what classes that may be helpful for preparing your dog for certain types of training. Please keep in mind that previous training you/your dog have received will have provided you with the skills needed to skip certain classes--please contact us to discuss this directly.
We keep class sizes small to ensure that you and your dog get adequate attention from the instructors. Please check the FAQ for more information.

Additional/Special Group Classes |
These classes are designed for dogs and handlers who have some training experience. Most of them have a pre-requisite of Obedience I or an introductory obedience training course. The courses range from refining basic obedience behaviors, to preparing your dog for good canine or therapy dog evaluations, to learning how to teach your dog neat and fun tricks.

Clicker Tricks
Teach your dog to perform fun tricks such as rollover, weaving through your legs, fetch and more! Trick training is a wonderful way to build a fantastic bond with your dog while developing their mind. This class is also a great introduction to clicker training. This course can be taken multiple times as the tricks that are taught will change from course to course. Prerequite: Obedience I or an introductory training course. We currently offer group classes in two locations:
- PAWS for Rehabilitation, 2584 Aviator Dr., Suite 103, Virginia Beach (inside the PAWS for Rehabilitation building)
From I264: Take the Lynnhaven exit and head toward Lynnhaven Mall. Turn left onto International Pkwy, then right onto London Bridge Road. At the traffic light intersection of London Bridge Road and Taylor Farm Road--Forbes Candy is on your left--turn left onto Taylor Farm Rd. Drive about a quarter mile and look for Aviator Dr. on your left. Building is located on the left and there is a small white fence at the entrance to the office.
All classes except Puppy Manners offered at this location.

Currently, we only offer Puppy Manners class at this location.

I just wanted to thank you for working with Maple. I truly appreciate your willingness to come to the house when she couldn't be with the group. I believe that six sessions of training helped settle her down and "grow up" a little bit. And when she is outside, she will come the first time I call her. I really like that. She is a good girl and I am so glad we got her. She has also helped our other dog Frankie a lot. He has more energy, has lost some weight and doesn't mope and just lay around and sleep all the time any more. Thanks again. - Shirley V. |
