Agility is a fun dog sport where you work with your dog to complete a course of sequentially numbered obstacles such as jumps, tunnels, weaves poles, and contact equipment. To learn more about dog agility, click here.
Our focus is making sure that teams have fun, stay safe, and run with speed and accuracy. Most people just want to try agility for fun. However, we teach everyone as if they will compete one day (not everyone does and that's great!). This way you avoid learning any bad habits which could hold you back later. We emphasize NADAC agility although the skills that you will learn are applicable to other agility venues.
IMPORTANT: Agility can be both mentally and physically demanding for your dog. Before beginning agility training, you must confer with your veterinarian to confirm that your dog is physically able to do agility. For their own safety, puppies and young dogs will not do any jump or weave training until their growth plates are closed. Your dog must have adequate obedience skills (i.e., sit, stay, recall; crate training highly recommended) and be good with other dogs. Not sure if your dog is ready?
